NetBeez at Interop 2016

By | Company, End user monitoring, In the news, Wireless monitoring | No Comments

netbeez agentsThis year, NetBeez was selected as the official end-user monitoring solution of InteropNet, the temporary enterprise network that serves exhibitors and attendees at Interop. For those who don’t know, Interop is the annual IT trade show that takes place in Las Vegas and whose mission is to facilitate interoperability between vendors.

Several vendors sponsored the event and provided their technology in support: Ruckus for wireless, CenturyLink for Internet connectivity, NetBeez and PathSolutions for end-user performance monitoring and network troubleshooting.

InteropNet was a success! As I will prove in this blog post, throughout the conference, the network provided stable and reliable wired and wireless services to the exhibitors and attendees.

What’s happening at NetBeez?!?

By | Company, In the news | One Comment

ycombinator-logo-fb889e2eIt’s been a long time since we last posted on the blog. But we have an excuse: we’ve been pretty busy working on different projects. First, I am happy to announce that NetBeez is in the Y Combinator program. For this reason, part of the team, myself included, has temporarily relocated to Mountain View to work more closely with the YC partners.

Along with the YC update, this week we have also announced on VentureBeat the release of our new free tier version of NetBeez. This version targets network engineers and administrators who want to get their feet wet with NetBeez or perhaps just monitor a few locations and online assets through virtual and software agents. The free tier provides a license for up to three agents, one of which is external, and up to three monitoring targets. With the free tier, you can also download the ready-to-burn Raspberry Pi image to use on your own hardware. You can find more instructions on this page.

More great news is the launch of our online community, available at the following address: http://community.netbeez.net. I encourage you to register because NetBeez users can get even more out of the solution, thanks to community support. I have also posted links to four quick video tutorials on NetBeez on the community forum. We hope that the online community can also be used to discuss and troubleshoot together.

That’s all for now. Expect more exciting updates about the company, the product, and the community in the coming weeks!

InteropNet and the NOC Team

By | Company, In the news, Network Engineering | No Comments

core - interopLast week I participated in the InteropNet hot stage and deployed and configured the NetBeez instance for Interop. InteropNet is a critical part of Interop because it will provide connectivity to the exhibiting companies as well as the attendees of the tradeshow that is taking place in Las Vegas from April 27th to May 1st.

(If you don’t know what InteropNet is, read this blog post Panos wrote.)

During hot stage, the network equipment is racked, configured and interconnected following the network design that was set during the planning meeting in January. After hot stage, the 30+ racks containing the equipment are wrapped and shipped in trucks to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Last week we participated in our first Networking Field Day 9 (NFD9), which was a milestone for NetBeez. We reached the point of presenting NetBeez to the top members of our community, have engaging discussions with them, and, last but not least, getting valuable feedback that will help us make NetBeez an even better and more indispensable tool for every network engineer.

We kicked off the second day of NFD9 and all delegates were fired up, even early in the morning. Between a Twitter storm and a deluge of questions by the panel, we flew through the two hours of our slot.
