FAQ

What's the difference between Network Agents and Remote Worker Agents?

Network Agents are hardware, virtual, or software appliances that get installed on-premise at remote branch offices, public clouds, and data centers. These agents can be deployed as Linux packages, Docker containers, or hardware probes.

Remote Worker Agents are software clients for Windows or Mac operating systems that are installed on user endpoints.

What's the difference between real-time and scheduled tests?

Real-time tests are ping, DNS, HTTPS, traceroute, or path analysis tests that run, by default, every 5 seconds (ping), 30 seconds (DNS), 60 seconds (HTTPS), 120 seconds (traceroute) and 300 seconds (Path Analysis).

Scheduled tests are iperf, network speed, and VoIP performance tests that run according to a user-defined schedule. They are meant to be run less frequently than real-time tests.

Is there a limit in the number of tests that agents can run?

Yes, by default Network Agents can run 50 real-time tests and 6 scheduled tests. Remote Worker Agents can run 25 real-time tests and 3 scheduled tests. Tests per agents can be increased only in enterprise plans.
